Pandemic parenting in 2021: the struggle is real. We know because we’re right there with you. With the school year starting soon, and so many things being unsure, everyone has their own concerns. Many people’s trauma from last year is being triggered again and pandemic parenting can become a struggle.
We’re experiencing ‘mass trauma’ from the pandemic
It’s important to remember that we’ve all had our own experiences regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and everyone has their own trauma response. With restrictions and lockdown back on in many places, our trauma from last year is retriggered and we find ourselves in a worldwide mass trauma.
Today’s episode of Podcast Therapists is for parents, and parents only, because in order to be there for your child 100%, you need to take care of yourself first. Self-care during the pandemic can seem like a no-brainer to some, but our trauma response can make us feel overwhelmed and we can lose our head over pandemic parenting altogether.
